About This Grant:
Northern Light A.R. Gould hospital will strengthen internal practices to increase colorectal screenings in Aroostook County. This will be accomplished with a pilot project in a chosen clinic in year one that would then be replicated in all other primary care practices in year two as well as with other interested hospitals county-wide. This would be accomplished with patient outreach from primary care offices, assessments of structural barriers, one on one patient education, addressing barriers to screenings through collaboration with a local social service agency, and some community education and outreach.
