
Jane Amero
Jane was born and raised in Rumford, ME, and attended Cornell University on a full scholarship. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and over the years has enjoyed a wide variety of professional and personal roles. She was a high school teacher, a mother of three, and a grandmother of six. She served on the Cape Elizabeth School board for six years, the Cape Town Council for nine years, and chaired the State Board of Education for three years. Jane was a State Senator from 1992 - 2000 with six years in leadership. Jane was a Policy Fellow at the Muskie School in 2000 and most recently served as the Director of Governmental Relations at Pierce Atwood before retiring in 2010.
Jane is a current Board member at Goodwill of Northern New England, Muskie School Board of Visitors, Maine Coalition for Excellence in Education, and the Torch Club, an international speakers club.
