Maine Cancer Foundation: A Case for Support

Your annual fund donation will support Maine Cancer Foundation’s mission to improve the health and well being of Maine people by funding cancer research, education and patient support programs.

In addition to grant-making, the Foundation also supports Oncology Nurse Education; distributes the essay-book “Portrait of Courage, Voices of Hope” to newly diagnosed patients; and seeks to address needs unique to Maine evidenced by the Maine Cancer Consortium.

Maine Cancer Foundation believes the greatest potential for progress is in scientific research. Well-funded research will unlock the remaining mysteries. The Human Genome Project has informed the 21st Century like no other time in history, heralding astonishing advancements. Cancers that ten years ago were largely untreatable are now survivable. Much more is possible but only if the brightest minds remain at work.
